I recently went on an absolutely beautiful holiday to Airlie beach and Hamilton Island. If you ever get the chance to go, do it. It won’t disappoint!

There are so many incredible things about Hamilton island and the Whitsundays and one of the things I was most impressed with (of course haha) was their commitment to the environment. Both apartment and hotel I stayed in had signs about reusing towels and how to recycle any of your waste. At the local IGA they had bins to swap green bags and they had biodegradable produce bags. At the cafes and restaurants, they used paper straws and bio cups. I also purchased some tumblers from the art gallery that were made from upcycled wine bottles. While I was there, I had the chance to snorkel along the great barrier reef and surrounding reefs. It was extraordinary and heartbreaking all at once. The affects of climate change are really obvious and to see the coral bleaching first hand was confronting, but was also a swift kick up the backside to come home and try to do more to help the planet in anyway I can. So let’s do it!
