Easy swapsies

The most push back I get from people about being more mindful of their waste and environment is “its too hard” or “I don’t have time”. Fear not my want-to-be-eco friends! I’m going to make you a quick list of easy swaps that you can implement right now (or on your next shopping trip)
QUICK SWAPS.
PET FOOD:
I used to buy my cat a box of sachets of wet food. So much plastic wasted every feed time. Now I buy tinned food, instead of 1 packet = 1 feed, 1 tin = 4 feeds. Also tins are easily cleaned to be reused and upcycled or recycled.
CANNED CORN:
I used to buy the 4 packs of canned corn that came wrapped in plastic. Now I either buy one Big tin or I buy the coles brand because the cans come encased in cardboard. Easily recyclable. TOILET PAPER:
I used to buy TP from the supermarket, wrapped in plastic. Now I buy online from Who Gives A Crap and it’s great! Delivered to my door cyclically, packaged in fun bright paper and comes in a reusable, recyclable or fun buildable box! WGAC also donate profits to charities to build toilets in developing nations. CARRY A DRINK BOTTLE:
Instead of buying bottled water. Carry a drink bottle and fill up at the tap. You’ll never be thirsty again. PAPER STRAWS AT BOOST
Simply pick up a paper straw instead of a plastic one at boost. Save the planet from 100,000s of plastic straws. MAKE TIME TO HAVE COFFEE
Instead of grabbing a cup to go, make time to sit and drink it from a real mug, or take your own coffee to work and make your own. (Or get yourself a keep cup and remember to use it and/or get reusable coffee pods)
REDCYCLE:
Recycle coloured and soft plastics at Red cycle at Coles! We keep a coles bag on the door next to the regular kitchen rubbish and recycle bins. We put all our soft plastics in and when it’s full, we just drop it off at coles on our next grocery shop. TURN THE TAP OFF:
When washing the dishes, in the shower, whenever you’re “using water” but you’re just letting it run for nothing, turn the tap off. You’ll save thousands of litres of water!
THERES SO MANY MORE! This is just a quick little list I put together but there are literally thousands of ways to make small changes that make a huge impact. Remember, heaps of LITTLE changes add up to HUGE change. No change is ever too small to not bother. Keep up the good work.
