I’ve never had a green thumb and I like the outdoors... from the window... so when I decided it was time to start growing my own fruits, veggies and herbs, I was worried it wouldn’t go so well. I was given a hydroponic windowsill herb garden for my birthday and tried growing coriander and basil.. That was 6 months ago, the basil is still quite small and the coriander flowered and withered... Next I tried the Woolworths Discovery Garden, which I placed with my LED hydro harden and was for a time, going pretty well, until I blasted the aircon one hot day and seemed to kill everything... So this time I took it outside. My friends and family had kindly gifted me potting mix, hanging baskets, seeds and plants for my (30th Zero waste) birthday. My housemate and I spent a whole afternoon potting every kind of seed we had (more than 25 types) and this is what it looks like in the beginning. It’s been just under 2 weeks now and we already have heaps sprouting! If you’d like to follow the process more closely, check me out on Instagram! But stay tuned here for more updates.
