I love stores that make you feel good. Feel good about being in the store, about buying their products, about being invested in their ethos and story.

Today I discovered this cute little bag store in Melbourne Central. It had all these crazy, exciting patterns and interesting styles of bag. My friend and I went in to have a look. There were big signs on the wall about textile waste and the lack of education in Cambodia. The shop keeper thanked us for reading the signs and began to tell us about the business. The shop keeper was the owner and founder of this amazing little shop Beekeeper Parade. He told us how he was born in a prison in Cambodia, how he’d lost his sister to cancer and how he had helped build schools and wanted to change the world.

I instantly fell in love with the store, the story and this person! Faith in humanity restored!

The shop itself is so cleverly put together, using cardboard shelving and coconut flooring.

The products themselves are made from discarded textiles that are upcycled into beautiful, durable, unique bags and pieces.

I bought myself a backpack (which I use instead of a handbag, gotta fit my keep cup, straws and cutlery) and it’s absolutely perfect! It’s got pockets for everything!

A Secret zip-up compartment at the top. Laptop compartment on the inside. Two front compartments at the front, one with an organiser AND two side pockets!

My friend also bought a makeup pouch which is a perfect size, really durable and well made. Her

The prices are “expensive” for a backpack, but when you think about it, you’re giving to charity, supporting local business AND getting a rad backpack, the price is very reasonable.

We walked past the store on the way back and I couldn’t stop smiling. A heart-breakingly beautiful and inspiring story and store to match.

I’m so excited to use my new backpack and share this wonderful venture with as many people as I can.

Do yourself a favour and check out the website, Facebook and/or Insta. Read Kokys incredible story and make a purchase here >>> https://beekeeperparade.com/
